Nils Jorgensen: Master Street Photographer.

Nil Jorgensen 1

Nils Jorgensen is my favorite contemporary street photographer. He is a master at his craft. His photographs are often funny and always miraculous. His work is iconic.

He seems to have an incredible ability to capture images where the juxtaposition of elements in the frame are seemingly once in a lifetime coincidences…..yet…..he does it again in again with each new photograph he presents.

His stunning street photography mastery is an uplifting inspiration to all those who aspire to reach the greatest heights in the genre. Many of his images are filled with elements that provide the viewer with an instant story in their mind and they frequently leave one amazed and awestruck.

I rave about Nils Jorgensen because he records images that manifest themselves as those that border on supernatural acts that are choreographed by divine intervention. His photos demand close observation and study.

A photographer with gifts and talents such as that possessed by Nils Jorgensen comes along once in a lifetime…..if you’re lucky. In this life…..Nils has made us all very, very lucky.

and yet…when I see his work, I often think…that wasn’t too hard to get…heh… in reality, it is…that’s the beauty of his work and craft to me…to make it look so easy and so “everyday”, but with that added flare, storyline and craft that eludes all but the best…I too admire his work so much and am glad you recognized him here!

I just discovered Jorgenson myself as part of a Street Photography class assignment. I am glad you have a compilation of info here. It will helped me with my class. I am personally drawn to his photos, not just for the human aspect, and sense of moment, but its combination with the use of architectural elements, and use of perspective in some other photos. Not surprising to read that his father was an avid photographer, an architecture student before becoming a doctor and was integral in Nils’ photography development. I think with my architectural background, these photos really speak to me.
