Perfect focus doesn’t always matter.

Curled.

Sharp focus on the eyes in a portrait (in this case a head shot) is considered paramount in the importance of obtaining a first class image.

I don’t believe this is always the case and as in much of photography accepted rules are often broken.

In the image posted here the eyes are not sharp yet the photo works well at capturing a feeling or mood from the subject.

This is a candid photo and the woman pictured here did not know her photograph was being taken.
