Master photographer Clay Enos has a killer video on how he approaches Street Portraiture. It’s such a simple set up and all he uses is a 50mm lens on a full frame Nikon D3 DSLR. It takes guts to do what he does but he makes it look easy. I have done very similar work in my “Portraits of people I don’t know” series. You can see my series by clicking right here and also right here and here.
Mr. Enos has the perfect personality to get the portraits. You can see how he interacts with people in such a manner as to make them comfortable almost instantly. This guy is brilliant. Make sure you check out his web site and his terrific blog. I also recommend you follow him on Twitter.

Fantastic post Tom. Thanks for posting this, I sent it to all my other budding street photographer friends! I’m sure they will appreciate it as much as I did

Very interesting, thanks for posting it, Tom. Just shows how easy it can be to grab people for quick portraits with just a confident attitude.

That is cool. I saw the length of the video and thought I probably wouldn’t watch it all (yeah I know 4min isn’t that lon), but he was intriguing and I love his approach.
thanks for the kind words and sharing your inspiration.
all the best to you,
